The Son Trio

The SON TRIO was formed by three sisters from South Korea: Ah-young Son (Piano), Jin-young Son (Cello) and Chae-young Son (Violin).

The Trio
As a trio, they studied chamber music with Prof. Klaus Maetzl (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna / Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Wien), Prof. Adalbert Skocic (Conservatory Vienna University / Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität), Gustav Mak and Prof. Frank Maus (Berlin University of the Arts / Universität der Künste Berlin) and Prof. Michael Dallinger (Anton Bruckner Private University Linz / Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz). They participated in Master classes with Prof. Klaus Maetzl and in a workshop with Gottlieb Wallisch.

Prizes
In the summer of 2007, they won 1st Prize at the “Wiener Klassik” International Competition for Piano Trios in Mürzzuschlag (Austria).
